Great Presentaions

Services

We conduct Presentation Skills Workshops that meet our client’s specific needs and make our participants better presenters and public speakers. While the ability to develop and deliver highly professional, persuasive presentations is required in most business settings, we particularly work with people in the marketing and communications sector, field sales staff and management, consulting groups and nonprofit organizations.

Great Presentations seminars are designed to create tangible results for its attendees. Seminars are kept small, from eight to ten people, allowing for maximum participation, leaving plenty of time for role playing (i.e., creating and delivering practice presentations) and for lots of Q & A. When a concentrated learning experience is required we also provide individualized training for one or two people.

The basics of our workshops have been developed and refined over a number of years and are universally accepted. This said, we are always pleased to adjust our workshops to suit a client’s specific needs (e.g., new product introductions, new business presentations, one-time addresses and more).

Here is a rundown of our seminars:

Overview

This session is essentially an address with time provided for a Q & A period.

We cover some of the basics. While it doesn’t give attendees an opportunity to immediately practice what they learn and be critiqued on the spot, it provides a taste of what can be gained by participating in fuller workshops.

Many people have found the “overview” especially beneficial, because there is always something new to learn on these subjects. The “overview” as delivered by Paul Goldsmith, works very well as an after luncheon or dinner speech for business gatherings, meetings of clubs and associations. It’s also been used effectively in undergraduate and graduate college classrooms. Just about everyone can improve his or her presentation skills.

Individual Presentations Workshop

It’s a full day of training, learning and practicing “new” presentation skills. Our one-day seminar is focused on developing and delivering individual presentations.
Topics covered are as diverse as:

  • The Three Types of Presentations
  • Organizing a Great Presentation
  • Understanding and Reading Your Audience
  • Making Eye Contact
  • Holding Their Attention
  • Winning Introductions and Closings
  • Proper Preparation and Use of Visual Aids
  • Movements and Gestures
  • and much more

Attendees quickly learn how to be dynamic, persuasive and self-confident. They learn how to present their ideas and to rehearse properly.

The day consists of several hours of instruction, a number of opportunities for attendees to prepare and deliver their own presentations and critiques by both their instructor and peers. The day ends with Paul Goldsmith’s “18 Tips for Better Presentations”.

Participants receive a workbook that enables them to revisit the training session as often as they like.

Team Presentations Workshop

This seminar, teaches the universal presentations skills that are part of the individual seminar while incorporating the unique elements required to deliver great team presentations. They are a “whole new ballgame!”

To get three or more presenters to blend into an effective, persuasive team that comes across as a fine-tuned unit requires a number of approaches that most people don’t think about.
Our seminars make them think about such subjects as:

  • Casting the right group
  • Assigning a “captain” for the presentation (a must)
  • Defining the captain’s role
  • Insuring smooth transitions
  • Developing a theme
  • Running worthwhile rehearsals
  • And special openings and closes

Other significant topics include: the importance of room layout, handling the most difficult questions and objections, a unique way for the team to “warm-up” and the important difference between “we” not “me!”

As in the individual seminar, there is ample time for learning the nuances via teaching sessions and practicing newly gained skills on the spot. During the day, participants are split into groups to develop, rehearse and deliver a number of team presentations, all under Paul Goldsmith’s helpful tutelage. Special workbooks focused on team-oriented presentations are included as part of the package.
