Not only did he hold the senior positions (e.g., CEO, President, Chief Operating Officer, Vice Chairman, Executive VP, Executive Director and General Manager), he was often called upon to deliver informational and persuasive presentations to groups of all sizes. From senior management meetings, to key company boards, to hundreds at major conferences and conventions, he has addressed audiences on many matters and subjects.

As a commentator, he has contributed featured articles to numerous business publications including Advertising Age, ADWEEK, Broadcasting, Marketing & Communications and Sales and Marketing Management.

Over the years he has learned how to be a commanding presenter and teacher, continually refining and updating his unique views on how to organize, prepare, choreograph and deliver memorable, winning presentations.

Since 1996 when he first developed “Presentation Skills Workshops with Paul Goldsmith,” he has conducted seminars in the US and Europe. His clients include names like Bates USA, Consultores de Publicidad (Madrid), Cordiant Communications, The Dannon Company, Direct Marketers On Call, Results International Consulting (London), Euro RSCG, Hearst Publications and many more.

Paul has been listed with the Executive Speakers Bureau, and in Who’s Who in America. He has presented major addresses to organizations as diverse as Cosmetics & Fragrances Institute, Marketing & Communications International, Non-Prescription Drug Manufacturers Association, Public Gaming Institute and the Radio Advertising Bureau.

He firmly believes that the ability to deliver an effective standup presentation is one of the most important (yet underrated) skills needed to achieve business success. He says that “anyone who participates in the workshops automatically becomes a better presenter.”

Recognizing the enormous demand and necessity for Presentation Skills Training across all disciplines, he has put together a series of workshops to specifically meet the needs of marketing, sales and nonprofit executives.
Career Capsule

Early in his career, working in the pharmaceutical industry, Paul Goldsmith became the youngest Division General Manager in the history of Hoffmann-La Roche, Inc., managing that firm’s Sauter Laboratories to new heights. He moved onto the advertising agency business where he worked his way up to President of Rumrill-Hoyt, NY and later Vice Chairman of McCaffrey & McCall, two major agencies, both later acquired by Saatchi & Saatchi Communications. Under his leadership and new business skills, Rumrill-Hoyt’s New York office grew from less than $15 million to $100 million in capitalized billings in less than five years.

Moving to the nonprofit arena in the early 90’s, he accepted the position of Executive Director of Marketing & Communications for the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of New York. He held that role for over three years, helping to remake the world’s largest local philanthropy into a marketing oriented organization.

From 1994 through 1996, he served as President, North America, of Results International Consulting, a London-based international firm that provides counsel on Merger & Acquisition and Performance Improvement to advertising and public relations agencies and other marketing service organizations.
